I now have 88 testers - you guys are awesome. I'm really surprised that my t1.micro instance on AWS (the free one) is coping nicely - peak CPU load is only 30%. The BOINC developers have down a fantastic job of minimising the CPU requirements on the servers.

I've closed account creation now - as I only have 6 galaxies prepared and we're already 1/2 way through it in 3 days!!! I'll speak to my colleagues at Johns Hopkins to see if we can get some more as validation does not appear consistent Windows & OS X seem ok, but Linux appears variable.

Great news and I truly trust our volunteer computing cycles make your project a great success. While I understand your objectives in very broad brushed terms as explained on the Skynet web, the specifics and results are a bit technical for the lay person. It would be wonderful if a more detailed description is provided with examples, either pictorial or graphic, in a manner that a simple man can sort of understand. While I have no idea whether a 'real time' presentation of the results could be presented, that would be awesome.

The Universe as we knew it just a few years ago and the text books on the subject are now really out of date with the incredible new research now underway and with new technologies employed. I think in the next several decades our understanding will be even more evolved and where that leads is, I think, still a project in its infancy. Are we in a dawn of a new age? Good question; but I do think all these scientific projects on so many fronts will eventually sum to a crescendo that will allow mankind to liftoff from mother earth and explore the stars.

I am contributing to your project using four PC three running MS Windows 7, one with Windows 8. CPUs range from two times amd fx-8150 8 cores, 1 times amd 1100t 6 core, and 1 times amd Phenom 970 4 core. All are running at 4 ghz. Each PC has 16 gigs of ddr3 1866 MHz memory by Kingston, and each computer employs EVGA Nvidia based video cards ranging from a 290gtx, 550 gtx, 570 gtx,and a 690 dual gpu gtx. Really would like POGS to utilize CUDA. Mother boards are all Asus based with two of three of them new generation Crosshair iv Extreme, Crosshair V extreme, and a Sabertooth fx-990, each providing a 6 gigabyte per second throughput. My network is cable based @ 25 Mips on wireless.

I pleased to provide you with the opportunity to use my systems to further your research which I believe is certainly important to the adventures of the human race.

Nice set of Hardware there Stephen. How is your electric bill?

Here in the PNW we do get to enjoy some inexpensive electricity due to all the Dams on the Columbia and other rivers around the area.

My main PC, I7-920, Liquid cooled, 16GB DDr3, Adrenalin 64GB SSD cache, Nvidia GeForce 550Ti on a Gigabyte MB draws about 8.2 kWh per day. And I have 6 other PC's currently working + 10 more that I coud get online some day.
